I have annotated this film review from Empire website

Editing: Radio Clip

At the end of our film we wanted to put a radio clip in of when the boy who didnt catch the bus enters his kitchen and turns on the radio. This informs the audience that the man who caught the bus has been involved in a collision.

We used the apple programme Garage Band to create the radio clip, we found it very easy top use as it also had radio jingles to make it sound like an actual real life radio report.

Although we found Garage Band easy to use, the final radio clip sounded very echoey so we re recorded it. Here is the clip of the radio..

Teacher Targets

- Analysis of Film reviews need to be more detailed.
- Ensure that all links work.
- Include your research on target audience - and then link to feedback.
- Ensure there is some sort of record of your time keeping.

Final Film Review

I think this film review looks really good, we have followed the codes and conventions of typical film review magazines. We have also incorporated our short film "The Running Man" onto our review. I think the colour scheme fits very well together and it stands out. We took inspiration for this from Empire Magazine mostly, particualry with the colour scheme. They use the stars to show what they think of the film, we have taken this idea for our film review as this is a convention of a film review magazine/website.

Ancillary Task- Film Review

Our 2nd part of the ancillary task, we chose to do a film review. We mind mapped some ideas for the film review title and came to the conclusion of 'Motion'. We felt this was appro
priate as it linked with the idea of a film. We took idea from already existing film review websites and magazines such as 'Empire' and 'Total Film'.

Ancillary Task-Poster

For our ancillary tasks we had a choice of a radio advert, a film review and a film poster. We chose to do a film poster and a film review.
For the film poster we took the idea for it from the London To Brighton poster.
We liked this poster as we think it really stood out and you could clearly see it. We took many different parts from it and incorporated it into our own poster. We developed our poster a few times as we were not happy with it.

Our first poster we wanted to take the idea of the London To Brighton poster but not make it so gritty, but to portray our film in the right way. We decided to put in photos of screen shots of our film to fill in the white of the poster so it didnt look so blank, but to make it stand out. We also wanted to include writing of underneath the photos which film posters normally use to show who the director is etc. We decided to round off the photos as this didnt make the poster look so harsh. The silhouette works really well in this poster although i think it is too big and takes up alot of space. Also there is too much white space still, so i want to change this.

Editing

We are now at the stage of editing our film. After completing our film we had to make a few tweaks but overall i am very pleased with it. We have had alot of positive feedback from our teachers that has enabled us to make small changes to our film that will improve it.

Credits and titles also need to be created which is something we have not made yet, although we have had ideas that they will flash inbetween the starting shots, this will be the final thing we have to do before we export our film.
As we have taken the idea for our film from the film Sliding Doors, we want to take the split screen effect from it. We had quite alot of difficulty in doing this on the Adobe Premier programe, but after our teachers help, we managed to acheive this. Using a split screen effect would be the only way we could show what is happening at different times but with the same storyline. We have now done a number of split screens and they all have been successful.
